Generally, when polyurethane systems containing mineral fillers are mentioned, thoughts immediately turn to a metering unit fitted with dosing cylinders.

 

These cylinders based machines enable materials with high viscosities and levels of abrasive filler to be used but, by the very nature of there construction, also require substantial investment to acquire.

The Ecoline R-RIM machine, fitted with a specially treated version of Ecomix Y2K-12/18 mixing head is used to produce sound absorption parts for the industrial transport sector. The machine is also equipped for the direct injection of colour into the mixing chamber.

 

In order to reach the acoustic performance necessary, the polyurethane system utilized contains Barium Sulphate with an addition ratio of more than 50%.
