SNUGGLEDOWN RESTS EASY WITH OMS

Snuggledown of Norway is one of the world’s largest and most respected suppliers of duvets and pillows. Established in 1901 and originally supplying to the Scandinavian market, Snuggledown is now part of the John Cotton Group, the world’s largest manufacturer of fibres and fillings for the bedding industry.
To fill an expanding requirement for comfort pillows which mould to the users contours, Snuggledown of Norway has invested in new plant and equipment for the production of moulded viso-elastic foam pillows.
For their equipment needs Snuggledown selected OMS Group to supply a 7 metre rotary table capable of continuous or indexing operation and an Ecomaster 60/30 high pressure metering unit.
The metering unit is specified to work successfully with the combustion modified formulation and includes motorised filters and magnetic couplings to the metering pumps.
The OMS Ecomaster 60/30 also features a sophisticated closed loop control function for the metering pumps which, in conjunction with special pneumatically controlled modulating nozzles, enables a number of pre-set outputs and/or ratio settings to be memorised and used in production with automatic adjustment of recycle and pouring pressures.
An I.O.V. ( Instant Output Visualisation ) System equipped with volumetric flow meters works with the closed loop system and also provides visualisation and print out facilities for all production parameters. Overall consumption of raw materials and a log of any fault conditions is also available through the system.
The Snuggledown comfort pillow has proven to be an extremely popular addition to the wide range of conventional product lines and we are sure this dynamic and go-ahead company will find several more future uses for more moulded foam products.
